In a step towards strengthening industry-led skill development in the State, an MoU has been signed between Wild Lotus Fashions Pvt Ltd and OSDA to impart training in the apparel sector at their company premises located Chatabar, Khurdha.

An MoU has been signed between Shahi Exports, New Delhi and OSDA to conduct a Placement Linked Training Program in Odisha to scale up the short-term skill training and to enhance the employability of women in apparel manufacturing.

An MoU has been signed between Gugan Knitwears Pvt Ltd, Tamilnadu and OSDA on to scale up the training under the Placement Linked Training Programme and facilitate employment opportunities for women in the apparel sector.

To further expand skill training in apparel manufacturing in Odisha, an MoU has been exchanged between Shri Reghu G, Director, Employment & CEO, OSDA and Shri Anurag Gupta, CEO, Arvind Limited. As part of this collaboration, leading textile brand Arvind Limited will start a training centre in K Nuagaon in Kandhamal district.

In the 3rd Meeting of State Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Committee, Principal Secretary, SDTE Department Smt Usha Padhee interacted with stakeholders of Skilled In Odisha ecosystem to affiliate more ITIs & trades.

7 technical institutes of Odisha have achieved National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditation.

The team of 35 members from the Department of SDTE participated in a specially curated training programme on 'Skilling Excellence and Leadership' at ISB, Hyderabad.

Honourable Minister for Skill Development & Technical Education, Shri Pritiranjan Gharai, inaugurated the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Advanced Mechatronics at Government Polytechnic Mayurbhanj, along with the CoE in Advanced Welding & Mini Tool Room at TTI, Takatpur.

OSDA signed an MoU with the Mumbai-based NGO, JK Trust, to establish Skill Development Centres (SDCs) in Odisha. In the first phase, SDCs will be set up in Rayagada and Kalahandi.

An orientation program for 252 new students of the World Skill Centre for the School of Engineering was successfully organized.

Government ITI Berhampur has received 3 SKOCH Awards (Order of Merit) 2023 for its unique Waste to Wealth initiatives.

Odisha Skill Conclave 2023 was hosted at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar between 20th to 22nd of April with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as the industry partner of the event. The three-day mega event witnessed various sessions on industry-led skilling and emerging opportunities for the youth of the state.

During the Odisha Skill Conclave 2023, 24 MoUs were exchanged between the Government of Odisha and renowned organisations including ITE Education Services- Singapore, Schneider Electric Foundation, Philips Machine Tools, Mitutoyo South Asia, Drone Federation of India, Festo, Coursera, ISB among others.

High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to India, His Excellency Mr Simon Wong Wie Kuen has visited World Skill Center along with Mr Cheong Ming Foong (Consulate-General), Mr Sean Lim (First Secretary, Political), Mr Zacchaeus Lim (Vice-Consulate, Political).

24 recent graduates from the inaugural batch from WSC who are doing Internship Prog in Singapore, were presented with their ITEES Skills Qualification Certificates by Smt Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary SDTE Department and Smt. S Aswathy, Commissioner-cum-Secy of SME Department in Singapore.

Sri MD Nasimmuddin, ACS (LW & SD), IAS, Govt of Tamilnadu visited ITI Bhubaneswar along with Sri Reghu G, Director, DTET. He interacted with the trainees and officials.

Special Secretary to CM Shri R Vineel Krishna visited ITI Hinjilicut along with Ganjam Admin Shri Dibya Jyoti Parida today. He interacted with trainees regarding the modern education tools available and advised them to take some time for sports everyday.

Rourkela Zone and Cuttack Zone received the Champions and Runners-up trophies respectively at the closing ceremony of Poly Fest 2022.

Smt Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, SDTE Department visited World Skill Center and interacted with the students and faculty. She appreciated the efforts made by WSC in turning the trainees global ready.

In order to close the skill gap, OSDA inked an MOU with IBM for Digital Skilling of around 5000 youth of 100 ITIs & Polytechnics in hybrids mode during MIO 2022.

Four ITI trainees of Odisha: Mrutyunjay Pradhan, Sangita Prusty, Shital Boanda, and Rupalin Sahoo have topped the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) - All India Trade Test 2022.

Dr. H K Mohanty, Principal, Government ITI, Cuttack presented the Story of Transformation of the ITI at a Workshop on 'Continuous improvement in quality of Government ITIs in Bihar'. The transformation of ITIs in Odisha has become a benchmark for other states.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik has announced that two new state-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) will come up at Kuchinda in Sambalpur and Patnagarh in Bolangir. Around 240 students will be trained in four different trades, which have ample of scope for self-employment or job opportunity.

OSDA has entered a new dimension to skilling & employability as it signed two MoUs with world's leading tech organizations Autodesk & Microsoft India and also launched DIGITALL portal, Skills & Job Information System, PIA Payment Automation portal for efficient service delivery in skill development for youth.

To establish a Centre of Excellence for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning for the trainees, Government ITI, Cuttack has inked an MOU with Godrej and Boyce. The CoE will help nurture fresh minds and harness them for HVAC technology.

In a big leap toward upscaling skill training in Odisha, Hon'ble Chairman Shri Subroto Bagchi inaugurated BharatBenz Regional Training Center, Mitutoyo Quality Inspection Laboratory, Schneider India Center of Excellence in Energy Management & Automation Laboratory and CAD- Mech Mechatronics & Automation Laboratory in the premises of Government ITI, Cuttack. 

Political and Economic Officer, Head of Political and Economic Section at United States Consulate at Hyderabad Mr. Sean Ruthe called on Hon'ble Chairman Sri Subroto Bagchi and discussed issues related to skill development for youth as well as broader economic & political aspects of Odisha.

On the occasion of World Youth Skill Day, Hon'ble Governor Shri Ganeshi Lal inaugurated the second Skill Museum of the State at ITI Bhubaneswar.

Government ITI Berhampur turned out to be helping hands for MKCG Medical College & hospital as they repaired the out of order electrical appliances of the hospital to provide ease to the patients and staffs. This also provided them hands on practical training.

With the aim to 'Transform youth skills for the future' , Government ITI, Cuttack  has signed two MOUs with Skyy Rider Electric Pvt. Ltd. and Instrumentation, Automation, Surveillance & Communication (IASC) Sector Skill Council setup an E-mobility Training-cum-Service Center at its premises.

OSDA in collaboration with the Sports & Youth Services department has launched an initiative Let's Play ITIs to promote the wholesome development of ITI learners. 15 alumni of sports hostels were trained as Sports Change Leaders & deployed in 17 ITIs across Odisha to implement, this is designed by Tata STRIVE.

Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council & Principal Advisor to Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri Asit Tripathy visited SDEC, Government Polytechnic, Boudh along with senior officials & public representatives. During his visit he interacted with trainees and enquired about various skill development activities of the district.

269 students of Government ITI Berhampur were recruited by Suzuki Motor, Gujarat during a Campus Drive. 

Principal Secretary of Skill Development and Technical Education department , Sri Hemant Sharma launched the e-office system for World Skill Centre in presence of CEO, Odisha Skill Development Authority, Sri Reghu G, Executive Director, CMGI, Dr. Satya Priya Rath and other officials.

Mrs Alka Arora Mishra, IRPS, Retired Vice Chancellor of National Rail and Transportation Institute and Member Staff of Ministry of Railways, Government of India visited World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar. She was impressed with the skill ecosystem of Odisha and stated that WSC is going to play a major role in creating more Skilled In Odisha professionals in future.

Hon'ble Minister of Labour Resources and Information Technology, Government of Bihar, Sri Jibesh Kumar visited World Skill Center and inquired about its plans and management.

Officials of Pimpri Chinchwad Muncipal Corporation (PCMC), Pune visited Government ITI, Cuttack to understand the latest technology used in educational field and to know more about other Skill Development Programmes run in the Government ITIs and learn about the Industry-AcademiaCollaboration.

The Diresctorate of Technical Education and Training, Odisha (DTET) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with FESTO India Private Limited to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in advanced mechatronics at the Government Polytechnic in Mayurbhanj district.

Honorable Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik felicitated the winners of the India skills Competition 2021 at convention Centre. On this occasion he also announced about the enhancement of the cash incentives for the Biju Patnaik Dkhyata Protsahan Award

The Leadership Development Workshop held at the World Skills Center where heads of all the 49 ITIs and 37 Polytechnics were attended.

Let's Play ITIs- an unique initiative to provide holistic growth of the ITIs trainees to make them more employable, has been launched in the presence of Hon'ble Sports and Youth Affairs  Minister Sri Tusharkanti Behera, Hon'ble Chairman, OSDA,  Sri Subroto Bagchi, Sports and Youth Affairs  Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sri R Vineel Krishna and Director, DTET      Sri Reghu G. This has developed by Tata Strive and this will be initially implemented in 17 ITIs where the newly recruited Sports Change Leaders who are the alumni of Sports Hostels of Odisha will train the students. The initiative is a collaboration between DTET, Odisha, SDTE, Odisha and Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha.

State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training (SCTE&VT) signed an MoU with Jindal Stainless to promote technical education in the field of stainless steel and to educate about its various applications. Under this MoU, stainless steel courses will be introduced in all the Polytechnic colleges in Odisha from June 2022. The MoU was signed by Vice Chairman, SCTE&VT, Shri Reghu G, and Unit Head, Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), Shri Deepak Agarwal in presence of Principal Secretary, SDTE, Sri Hemant Sharma.

Two days workshop on ‘ Apprenticeship Reforms’ was organized by the Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship at World Skill Centre where 180 delegates from  five eastern RDSDE state Directorates, DTETs and prominent establishments like National Aluminium Company Limited-NALCO, Tata Steel, Ministry of Railways, Government of India, Steel Authority of India Limited and Airport Authority of India were present.

Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Odisha, Sri Nikunja Bihari Dhal along with a delegation from the Department paid a courtesy visit to World Skill Center and interacted with faculties & trainees.

The first batch of Indo-German Initiative for Technical Education    (IGnITE ) Training of Trainers (TOT) has been launched at Government ITI Cuttack. Odisha is fourth state to sign a MoU with GiZ Germany to promote Dual VET.

Purushottampur ITI's first official magazine 'Udan-2.0' was launched by Shri Subroto Bagchi, Chairman,  Odisha Skill Development Authority.

Sri Subroto Bagchi, Hon'ble Chairman of OSDA, visited ITI Bhubaneswar and inspected the training system and held discussions with the teachers and trainees.

To provide skill trainees a hands on exposure on Industry 4.0 skill, Government ITI Cuttack has established a state of the art Industry Automation lab for training in its premises.

Sri Subhrakant Panda, MD & CEO, Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd & Sr.Vice President Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) visited World Skill Center & appreciated such industry ready advanced training and labs available for students of Odisha. 

Mr Gianluca Rubagotti, Consul General of Italy in Kolkata visited World Skill Center and called it as a modern institution for skill education. A seminar on Pursuing post graduate engineering courses in Italy' was also conducted for students in presence of Mr Gianluca Rubagotti where students and officials from different engineering colleges participated along with representatives of Italian universities over virtual mode.

A team from Department of Technical Education, Training and Skill Development, West Bengal visited World Skill Centre to understand the practices in Skill eco-system of Odisha.

Hon’ble Chairman OSDA, Sri Subroto Bagchi delivered key note address for the ASSOCHAM CSR and sustainability summit virtually.

Director (Personnel), MCL, Mr. Keshab Rao visited WSC and discussed with Hon’ble Chairman, OSDA and showed their interest to be associated with OSDA. 

Government ITI Berhampur has made it to the Asia Book of Records for the 30’ft Robot made by the trainees, being regarded as the tallest e-waste sculpture in the country.

Hon'ble Union Minister of Ministry of Steel, Government of India, Sri Ram Chandra Prasad Singh visited World Skill Centre, Bhubaneswar along with Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and CEO, BSCL, Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh & CMD, NMDC Limited, Mr Sumit Deb and expressed his happiness to see world class infra and advanced training labs of the finishing school.

Directorate of Technical Education and Training, Odisha has inked an MoU with Automobile Doctor India Pvt. Ltd for aligning Automotive Skills with Autotronics at ITI Cuttack. 

Hon'ble Chairman Sri Subroto  Bagchi lighting the lamp at the opening ceremony of National Competition of India Skills 2021 at New Delhi.

Odisha topped the medal tally at India Skills 2021 with a total of 51 medals including 10 Gold, 18 Silver,  9 bronze and  14 Medallion of Excellence.

An alumni of Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha, Sri Ashutosh Pattnaik won 67th National Film Award.

Inaugural function for 1st Batch of one year Advanced Skill Course consisting of 240 students in Mechanical & Electrical Services, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and Mechatronics trades held at World Skill Center where Aditya Birla Group, Group Director Dr. Santrupt Misra attended as the chief guest.

A 40 members team from Maharashtra Skill Development Mission visited Odisha to learn the Skill Eco System of Odisha. During their four days visit, they visited Govt. ITI Cuttack, Biju Patnaik Film & Television Institute, Cuttack, Govt. ITI Puri, Govt. ITI Berhampur, SANKALP project of Kendrapada and World Skill Centre Bhubaneswar.

Govt. ITI Cuttack signed a MoU with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd for establishing BharatBenz Regional Training Center at its premises to facilitate the training of students and industry personnel to gain knowledge on latest CV automobile tech.

Skilled in Odisha trainee Bijay Kumar Behera of Government ITI Cuttack bagged 1st position in Pipe Welding category of National Skill Competition for Best of the Best Welders-2021 held by IIW Bhubaneswar Centre at C V Raman University on 20th November 2021.

Director of Technical Education and Training (DTE&T) signed an agreement with KEMPPI India Private Limited to setup Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Advanced Welding at TTI Takatpur in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha at a cost of INR 5.29 Crore using the fund under OMBADC

A MoU was signed between Parala Maharaja Engineering College (PMEC), Berhampur, Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and Tech Mahindra to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in PMEC, Berhampur in the field of Cloud computing & Cyber security.

 

For establishment of a CoE in the field of Aerospace, Automotive, Defence and Allied Industries at PMEC, Berhampur, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was concluded between PMEC, BPUT, Gram Tarang Employability Training (GTET) and Dassault Systemes.

To set up a CoE in the field of Mining & Allied Industries, a MoA was inked between Government College of Engineering (GCE), Keonjhar, GTET and Dassault Systemes.  

To strengthen the mental skill of the Skilled-In-Odisha champions for Regional Skill Competition-2021 at Patna, a two day mind strengthening boot camp was organized at World Skill Center by OSDA.

Kaushalacharya Award 2021 winner Mrs. Nibedita Mahapatra, (ATO) of Government ITI, Bhubaneswar and Sri Bipin Bihari Gouda ATO, Special ITI for PwDs, Jatni have been felicitated by District Magistrate, Khordha for their exceptional contribution towards the youth development and employment.

Odisha topped the medal tally at India Skills-2021 Regional Competition-East held at Patna with 23 Gold medals, 20 silver medals and 16 walkovers a total of 59 medals from 39 skills

Felicitation Ceremony of Regional India Skill-2021 held at World Skill Centre where Hon’ble Chairman, OSDA, Sri Subroto Bagchi felicitated the gold medallists with cash prize of Rs.50, 000 and silver medallists with cash prize of Rs.40,000 respectively.

To bridge the gap between industry & academia, John Bean Wheel Care Centre, Man Machine Car Servicing Centre and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Training Centre by NDT- TCIS were inaugurated by Hon'ble Chairman OSDA, Shri Subroto Bagchi in the premises of Govt I.T.I, Cuttack.

Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed between the Directorate of Municipal Administration and Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTET) and between the 114 ULBs and 33 ITIs for repair and maintenance of equipment of Wealth Centers and sanitation Vehicles.

ITI Spark 1.0 closing ceremony was held at World Skill Centre. 1200 participants, 49 ITIs, 80 teams started out the 'War of Ideas'- ITI SPARK 1.0 in June and after 4 months of logging heads with peers in 5 rounds, 4 mixed teams comprising of 57 students from 12 ITIs came with the winning ideas.

Two IG Drones Delta 400 manufactured by the skill trainees & faculties at the IG Drones CoE at Govt I.T.I Cuttack, Odisha which will be deployed in Odisha Mining Corporation 

In a first in the country for any ITI, Govt I.T.I Cuttack, Odisha inked an MoU with NDT TCIS Pvt. Ltd. to develop NDT(Non Destructive Testing) Training facility with International Certification at the ITI to fulfill the growing demand of trained NDT technocrats in industries.

UGIE Rourkela has also signed the MoU with NDT TCIS Pvt Ltd collaborate to upgrade and align the training infrastructure of the institute for the NDT Training Program.

A delegation of 20 officers led by Major General H B Pillai, Sr. Directing Staff from National Defence College, New Delhi paid a visit to World Skill Centre as a part of Study visit to Odisha.

Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the premier advanced skill training institute World Skill Cente at Bhubaneswar, which is a 18 storey building with floor area of  nearly 500000 square feet area, in which one year skill training in advance areas like Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical & Electrical Services, Vertical Transportation, Precision Engineering, Mechatronics and Electrical Technology, Hair Fashion & Design and Beauty & Wellness will be provided and this WSC will act as a finishing school for the ITIs & Polytechnics.

After waiver of the hostel fee of ITI students, Odisha Government has announced the waiver of hostel fees of 17,012 boarders in state-run technical universities, engineering colleges & polytechnics for the period of April to December 2020.

An 'India Map' made out of scrap by the Skilled-In-Odisha trainees of the ITI Berhampur was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chairman, OSDA Sri Subroto Bagchi in presence of Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh at Asia’s largest open air Scrap Sculpture Park inside the premises of ITI Berhampur.

Hostel fees of nine months from April to December, 2020 for the students pursuing their studies in all the Govt-run ITIs exempted as per the direction of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik.

Hon'ble Chairman Sri Subroto Bagchi visited the leading industries like NALCO, HAL & JK Paper Ltd and skill institutes of southern Odisha to strengthen the relationship between ITIs, Polytechnics & industries for a Dual system of training and creating employment opportunity.

National drone manufacturing company IG Droner signed a MoU with four Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) namely Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Behrampur and Hinjilicut in order to provide training to its students on drone management.

A STEM Tinkering and Innovation Lab and the SAK Robotix Lab were inaugurated by Hon'ble Chairman ,OSDA Sri Subroto Bagchi at Govt. ITI Cuttack.

Rina Bagha, a student of welding trade of Govt ITI, Bhubaneswar has been selected to be a part of the U-19 team to compete at the NASA Rover Challenge 2021.

The Scrap Sculpture Park installed inside the ITI premises of Berhampur has been declared as the largest open Air scrap sculpture park in Asia & earned a mention in the Asia Book of records.

Brand Skilled in Odisha going global as the 'digital placement' initiative taken up by ITI, Berhampur will be presented as a success story in the prestigious 7th World Conference of TVET at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Malaysia.

An MOU has been signed between Directorate of Technical Education and Training , Odisha and Edgefx Technologies, Hyderabad to set up EdgeFX STEM Tinkering & Innovation lab in Robotics , AI and Machine Learning at ITI Cuttack. The upcoming lab is envisioned to give an exposure to the trainees about the future skills and cater the need of Industry 4.0.

Two ATOs from Govt. Industrial Training Institute, Bhubaneswar and Govt. ITI Berhampur, Smt Nini Tripathy  and  Smt. Suchitra Mishra  were awarded with “Kaushalcharya Award’ by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Ranjan Sharma a Civil Engineering diploma trainee from Govt. Polytechnic, Sambalpur bagged 3rd position in the 'OPJU COVID-19 Hackathon 2020' organised by School of Engineering, OP Jindal University, Chattishgarh.

Under the Digital Placement Initiative taken up by Industrial Training Institute, Berhampur, 14  Skilled-In-Odisha trainees have been recruited for its industry at Gujarat. Suzuki Motors is the 4th company to select trainees under this digital initiative.

11 of our ITIs have made it to the 'Top 100 ITI' list released by  Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Around 10,675 ITIs across India have been evaluated on different parameters for this.

Govt ITI of Baleswar has been awarded as the Best ITI- Trade of Turner in the all India Skill Competition.

Govt. ITI, Talcher has been awarded as the best Industrial Training Institute in India recently for fitter trade.

A review meeting to discuss about the progress of the upcoming World Skill Centre was held where CEO, OSDA Ms Rashmita Panda & Director , Institute of Technical Education, Singapore, Mr LIM Boon Tiong along officials of OSDA and ITE, Singapore participated.

Berhampur Govt. ITI  joined the elite patent institute club of India by registering 3 of its innovations i.e., UVC ROBO Warrior, Mobile Swab Collection Kiosk, Smart UVC Sole Disinfection System developed to combat Covid-19. This not only gives the ITI a priority right over the invention but also contribute towards fulfilling the vision of Atmnirbhar Bharat.

ITI Bhubaneswar singed an MOU with FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar & Humara Bachpan-Our Early Childhood Matters to mobilise, mentor and enhance the capacity of women skill trainees of the ITI. The MOU will focus on providing mentorship for need based vocational training for future employability & business acumen in the girls.

On the eve of World Youth Skills Day (WYSD), four Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed virtually with UN Women, leading online platform Coursera, TimesPro (Partner of SAP) & SAK Robotics, to enhance the skill competency and employability of our youth. 

In celebration of World Youth Skill Day,OSDA organised a series of professional webinars from 13-15 July on different aspect of Skilling and skill ecosystem around the globe.

The products of Govt ITI, Berhampur and ITI, Cuttack to combat COVID19 were highly appreciated by Union Minister of Skill Development Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey. Automatic contactless sanitizer dispenser developed by Govt.ITI Khapuria, Cuttack  installed at the residence of Hon'ble Union Minister . 

ITI, Cuttack set a milestone on its expertise, the Skilled-In- Odisha team made number of machine parts for ISRO at the ITIs mini tool room that has been quality checked by CTTC, Bhubaneswar.

The DG of DGT, MSDE highly appreciated the good practices shown by Skill ecosystem of the State starting from providing infra for Covid centers to innovation of unique cost effective solutions to prevent corona virus from spreading. The DG has also urged the other States & UTs having ITI to learn and replicate the 10 good practices demonstrated by Skilled-In-Odisha professionals to contain the spread of corona virus.

Govt.ITI Khapuria,Cuttack signed an MoU with Kemppi, a Finland based company to set up an advance welding Lab with robotic welding to skill the trainees with latest technology relevant to the industries. The company will monitor the program through a web-based MIS tool as per the MoU.

Hon’ble Chairman did a virtual launch of India's 1st ever UVC sole sanitiser designed by Design Thinking Laboratory of ITI, Berhampur. It was presented to the COVID19 Hospital, Berhampur by Director of IISER, Berhampur.

ITI, Subarnapur developed an automatic whole body sanitizing machine and installed it in the campus of the institute which is functioning  as a COVID Hospital for the district.

Two of Odisha Skills innovations, sample collection kiosk of ITI, Cuttack and UV sanitizers of ITI, Berhampur have been recognized nationwide & placed in the homepage of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Website with endorsement and tweets of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and Hon’ble Union Minister  for Skill  Development & Entrepreneurship.

Skilled-In-Odisha professionals from ITI, Cuttack have manufactured Magnetic Stands essential for sample test for COVID-19 as per the requirement of Microbiology Dept of SCB Medical College & Hospital.

Different ITIs with the support of Nano Unicorn produced masks for COVID-19 pandemic.

Govt. ITI, Cuttack developed a Walk In Kiosk for mass collection of samples for COVID 19 testing has a sealed glass front, extended gloves, support for mobility and enables collection of swabs without direct exposure and contact.

ITI Berhampur prepared low cost 'aerosol boxes' & 'face shields' for medical professionals involved in treatment of  COVID-19.

The STEM Lab of ITI, Cuttack in knowledge partnership with SAK Robotix Labs developed CO-BOT and NIGA-BOT to combat Corona.

A group of Principals and Instructors from different ITIs of Chhatisgarh visited Khapuria ITI, Cuttack and have praised the infrastructure and new educational system adopted under the New ITI scheme of Odisha.

The second edition of OdishaSkills,the biggest Skill Competition in the State  was launched in  Krishi Bhawan. It was launched by Mr. Masood Hussainey, Head of Tata Advanced System in the presence of Hon’ble Chairman, OSDA, Sri Subroto Bagchi, Minister of Skill Development and Technical Education, Sri Premananda Nayak & Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director, Special Projects, Govt. of Odisha, Sri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil and Smt. Rashmita Panda, CEO, OSDA.

Open Air Museum based on “Waste Art”- “The Mind, Heart & Hand show” was inaugurated by Mr Masood Hussainy , Head of Aero Structures & Aero Engines, Tata Advanced System Limited & Hon’ble Chairman, OSDA, Shri Subroto Bagchi at Govt. ITI, Berhampur in the presence of Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Skilled in Odisha, Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh, CEO of OSDA, Smt. The first round written test of Odisha Skills 2020 for 23 trades of the competition was started on 8th February.

The State winners of CISCO-Codathan 2020 interacted with Mr. Dharmendra Rangain, CIO, CISCO India & SAARC region during their visit to Bengaluru. They also got an opportunity to visit CISCO Security warhead room and Data Centre. They were felicitated by CISCO EMEAR and APJC Director Mr Piotr Pluta, Director Operations, Mr Omar Shaben, CISCO India and South Asia Head, Mr Murugan Vasudevan, CISCO India CSR Lead Mr. Anurag Srivastava during CISCO Net Academy Annual Conference in Bangalore.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary, SD&TE, Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh took the dais as an esteemed panellist at “National Conference on Policy Framework for Skilling of Women & Children” at New Delhi. He spoke on the Odisha story about “creating a secured environment: Breaking the glass ceiling”.

Hon’ble Chairman, OSDA Sri Subroto Bagchi interacted with the participant of the ongoing “Train the Trainer” programme organised by Tata Strive at SCTEVT, Bhubaneswar. He shared OSDA’s perspective on the youth development in “Skilled-in-Odisha”.

ToT on Mechanical and Electrical Services and AC & Refrigeration for 30 Trainers of World Skill Centre was completed on 22nd February. The 3 weeks training was conducted by trainers from ITEES, Singapore at Bhubaneswar. CEO of OSDA Smt. Rashmita Panda was present in the valedictory session of the programme.

Odisha consecutively got the first prize for implementing DDUGKY programme in the whole country for the year 2018-19.

A team of 70 ITI and Polytechnic instructors went for a one month instructor training at ITEES, Singapore.

 

Hon'ble Chairman, OSDA Sri Subroto Bagchi attended the Annual Convention of Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) at New Delhi.

 

OSDA sponsored ten Nano Unicorns & ten Start up Odisha for 15 days long national train journey covering 8000 kms under Jagriti Yatra. During this they will be exposed to different business plan and peer learning.

The Apprentices Act, 1961 conference was held in Gopabandhu Academy by DTE&T aims at enhancing the employability of trainees and efficiency of the industries. Mr. Jason Scales from Lincoln Electric, Business Manager - Education, Cleaveland Ohio, USA visited Govt. ITI Cuttack and discussed with DTET, Odisha on Lincoln support for CoE in welding & cutting activities (solutions). He also visited smart class room, skill museum, welding workshop, lab & mini tool room of ITI. This was his first ever visit to India that to a Govt. ITI.

S Aswatha Narayana of CV Raman Institute won first-ever gold for the country in the emerging Water Technology trade at the 45th World Skill Competition held at Kazan, Russia on 27th August 2019.

Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sri Naveen Patnaik felicitated World Skill Winner Aswatha Narayana first ever Gold Medalist for India, Chairman, C V Raman College of Engineering, Dr. Sanjib Raut, Coach, Rajat Kumar Samantray along with two participants Xenophone Das and Abhinash Swain in the Lokseva Bhawan on 31st August 2019.

 STEM Lab was inaugurated at ITI Cuttack, a first for any ITI in the country.

A team from ITEES, Singapore visited to finalise the course curriculum and start-up of the World Skill Centre.

A MoU was signed between Tata Community Initiative Trust (TCIT) and Kalinga Mining Corporation Pvt Ltd (KMCPL) to implement life skill development programme in ten new government ITIs. The MoU was signed by Sri Ashok Kumar Mohanty, Managing Director, KMCPL and Sri Amaya Vanjari, Head Technology & Innovations, Tata Strive.

Tripartite MoU among Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTEVT) and Cisco Systems India Private Limited ("Cisco") was signed on 2nd March, 2019 for Skill Development, IT Education and Workforce Development Programs for the youth of Odisha undergoing training at ITIs and Polytechnics.

 Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA)  signed a MoU with Tata Community Initiative Trust (TCIT) in implementing the Nano Unicorn Programme to tackle the problem of local unemployment in Odisha by promoting entrepreneurship at grassroot level.

 One tribal girl student from Govt. ITI, Rayagada bagged first position in ITI category of the National Level Welding Competition for Women. The competition was held in C V Raman College of Engineering during international Women’s day.

Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) provided two week intensive technology enabled training to the 50 nos “Mo Bus” Captains (drivers) and Bus-guides (conductors) of Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) with the help of Tata Community Initiative Trust (TCIT) at Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Bhubaneswar.

Two days Nano Unicorn conclave was conducted at Police Bhawan on 22nd & 23rd February, 2019.Nano Unicorn booklet was released during this conclave.

Two days state level ITI Fest’2019, a sports and cultural meet was conducted at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on 26th and 27th February, 2019. 1392 participants including 302 female participants from all 45 Govt. and 36 Private ITIs participated in this meet.

Two days state level Poly Fest’2019 was conducted at Kalinga Stadium on 24th & 25th February, 2019 where 862 participants including 274 female participants from 33 Govt. and 56 Private Diploma colleges participated.

Odisha Skills Competition’2019 was launched on 27th February 2019 at KIIT auditorium.

MoU was signed between DTE&T and NIT, Rourkela for knowledge partnership to give a new look to ITI, Hirakud.

MoU was signed between DTE&T and SMC Corporation India Ltd. to meet the demand of industry 4.0 manufacturing technologies.

Government of Odisha was inked agreement with Asian Development Bank for USD 85 million to set up the World Skill centre to train 1.5 Lakh youngsters in Odisha On 3rd December 2018.

Seventh batch of Nano Unicorn have undergone a six days training programme at CYSD, Bhubaneswar.

A Session on “Skilled in Odisha: Skilled for future” was organised in the Make in Odisha (MIO) Conclave on 13th November, 2018 at Janata Maidan.

OSDA  signed five MoU with FICCI, Schneider Electric India Foundation, Bangalore, Yes Consultants, Delhi, Tech Mahindra Limited, Pune & Employability Bridge/ Surgeforth Technologies Private Ltd Make in Odisha Conclave.

A Smart Odisha Hackathon has organised in the College of Engineering & Technology (CET) during MIO Conclave where more than 4,000 students from various colleges & universities of the country participated.

A high level delegation from Temasek Foundation, Singapore & ITE Education Services, Singapore  reviewed the transformation of Govt. ITIs in the State. This review was a follow up of the two week leadership development programme carried out by Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore for 100 Government ITI principals and officials of Odisha.

Four Skilled In odisha students from electrical installations, health and social care and M-CAD trade participated in Worldskills Asia Competitions which was held at Abudhabi from 27th to 29th November, 2018.

Four students participated in Worldskills Russia Hi-Tech Eurasian Competition which was held at Yekaterinburg from 22nd to 29th October, 2018 and  two student have won bronze medals  in CNC Turning & M-CAD trade.

IndiaSkills2018, India’s largest skill competition at the national level, held at Aerocity Grounds, New Delhi, where in Odisha had sent the 2nd largest team of 33 regional winners among all the 4 zones of the country. Odisha won a total number of 19 medals among that 4 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals. In addition the state has also won two commandments for Excellence. With the total medal tally, Odisha ranks No.2 among all Indians State, behind Maharastra by just one medal.

For the first time in the state career counselling programme has been launched at Government ITI, Hirakud where 10th class students of all Govt. odiya medium high school of Sambalpur district were participated. The competition lead to APJ Abdul Kalam TVET Award (High School Level Career Awareness Competitions-2018). The same programme was also held in Government ITI, Raurkela in Sundergarh district. The award in the name of APJ Abdul Kalam is expected to sensitize individual high school children to better aware of his/her future career path.

DDUGKY conclave was organized at Tirupur of Tamilnadu, where nearly 4000 odia skilled employees working in different apparel industries participated. On this occasion, the annual sports meet of the odia boys and girls’ working there was held. A migration Support centre was also inaugurated at Tirupur for facilitation of the odia employees.

Fifth batch of Nano Unicorn have undergone a six days training programme at CYSD, Bhubaneswar.

Skill Museum at Government ITI, Cuttack, a first of its kind in the whole country was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha showcasing the technical instruments and their chronological development.

A 25-member Skilled-in-Odisha team went to Kerala for the restoration work in the severely flood affected Ernakulum district of Kerala.

Third Batch Nano Unicorns have undergone 5-day capsule on Entrepreneurship Development at CYSD.

MoU was signed between OSDA & De Asra Foundation, Pune for collaboration for Nano-unicorn Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

Road map and designs for setting up of 3 Skill Museums at Govt ITI, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & Special ITI for PWD, Khudurpur, Jatni was finalized with 3 leading Architects.

OSDA hosted the ASTP Governing Body meeting and facilitated Mission, Vision, Value of ASTP.

With the adoption of Common Norms with effect from 27th December, 2016, Biometric attendance along with CCTV cameras in the hostel were also adopted.

Skill Pavilion was arranged in the Make in Odisha Conclave organised in November-December, 2016.

The Mission, Vision, Value and Roadmap of Odisha Skill Development Authority was launched by Hon’ble Chief Minister on 17th June 2016 and the logo of Odisha Skill Development Authority was inaugurated.

Sri Subroto Bagchi renowned IT entrepreneur was appointed as Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority in the rank and status of Cabinet Minister who joined on 1st May 2016.

Sri Subroto Bagchi after joining as the Chairman of Odisha Skill Development Authority travelled all the 30 districts of the State within one month and covered nearly around 7,000 Kilometre by road.
