Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated India’s First World Skill Centre (WSC) at Mancheswar Industrial Area of Bhubaneswar on Friday on the birth anniversary of legendary Biju Patnaik. The World Skill Centre, an 18 storey building is aimed to make Odisha the global capital of trained manpower and is dedicated to 8 different skills and trades.

Odisha sent a strong contingent of 85 participants who contested in 39 skills. Odisha won 23 gold and 20 silvers and emerged with flying colours.
The Odisha government has partnered with Tata Strive and Tech Mahindra to enhance skill and improve employability of youth in the state.

Odisha Skills 2023-24 started on 12th March at 8 venues
Skill Caravan traversed 30 districts to create awareness on skill development among the youth across all 30 districts. The mission was to bring transformative human development in the state through skilling the youth and making Skilled in Odisha-a Global Brand.
Odisha Skills 2018’is a State-level chapter of India Skill competition organised by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Held from 27th-29th April in Bhubaneswar.

A photo journey to World Skill Competition 2019 , Kazan. A 42 member squad comprising three skilled in Odisha champs - S Aswath Narayan , Xenophan Das and Abinash Swain represented Teamindia there. Aswath Narayan bagged Gold in water Technology - the first ever Gold Medal for India in World Skill.
